Lumen & Stone is an outdoor-living studio working in stone, fire, water, and light. We design and build the parts of a property that turn a backyard into a destination, whether that is patios and pavilions, walls and gardens, or kitchens and gathering places, all of it tuned for the hours after the sun goes down.
How we got here
We started with a pretty simple conviction, that the best rooms in a house are the ones without a roof. Years of hardscape and planting later, that conviction hasn’t really changed. Every project still begins the same way, walking the property at dusk, watching how the light falls and where people naturally gather, and designing outward from there. We take on a small number of builds at a time, on purpose, so nothing leaves our hands until it is right.

Craft over speed
We would rather build one project properly than three of them quickly. Every joint, grade, and capstone gets set by hand and checked twice, because the details you stop noticing are the ones that end up lasting.
People first
The people we build for come before the schedule and before the invoice. We treat your property, your time, and your trust with the same care we would give our own home.
Built for the dark
Everything we make is designed for the hours after sunset, the warm light, the low fire, the long evenings. That is when an outdoor room really earns its keep, so that is what we design toward.
